17S. Best Juvenile Book (Sponsored by Missouri State Teachers Association) Fiction or non-fiction work accepted. This should be a book such as a board book, picture book, easy reader, middle grade or young adult novel. A published copy of the book is accepted. Fiction or non-fiction work accepted. SUBMISSION PROCEDURE FOR SPONSORS’ CONTEST

1. Contest is open to all Missouri Writers' Guild members, MWG chapter members, or anyone attending the MWG conference who has paid her/his attendance fee. MWG membership or chapter membership must be paid and up-to-date.

2. In cases of co-authorship, both authors must be current, paid MWG members, chapter members, or attendees.

3. The editor of a multiple-author anthology must be a MWG member, chapter member, or attendee and may enter the complete book while individual authors published in the anthology enter their work in appropriate individual categories.

4. All submissions must have been published within the last two years

5. Published copies or photo copies are permitted.

6. Materials submitted for the contest will not be returned.

7. Entry Fees: Send check or money order, payable to the Missouri Writers’ Guild.

9. Sponsors’ contests can be canceled if fewer than 6 entries are received. Entry fees will be returned.

AWARDS

1. Categories 8S through 16S awards: first place: certificate and $25; second place: a certificate and $15; third place: a certificate and $10. Honorable mention certificates can be awarded if the judges wish to recognize certain entries.

2. Category 17S awards: first place: certificate and $50; second place: certificate and $30; third place: certificate and $20. Honorable mention certificates may be awarded.
